- installed using IRIX. You do not need to use the miniroot.

- This section details the software dependencies needed for
- Video Format Compiler.

- 2.3.1 _P_r_e_-_P_r_o_c_e_s_s_o_r In processing files, vfc uses the
- language pre-processor to filter input. Typically, this is
- a C-language pre-processor such as that available with the
- IRIX Developers Option (IDO); this pre-processor, in the
- subsystem c_dev.sw.c, has a number of features not available
- in the standard system pre-processor /lib/cpp. Although not
- required, it is recommended you use the IDO pre-processor.
- By default, vfc uses the /lib/cpp preprocessor; you may
- specify that alternate pre-processor program on the vfc
- command line.

- 2.3.2 _R_u_l_e_s__F_i_l_e_s Video Format Compiler can produce files
- which can be run on different graphics architectures (e.g.,
- O2, InfiniteReality). Each graphics architecture requires
- you install the rules files specific to that architecture;
- all rules files are part of eoe.sw.gfx.
